His eyes are cold and restless, his wounds have almost healed....

Yesterday was the Fourth of July and what better way to celebrate America than going to a rodeo? Yee Haw Y'all! It was actually all my idea. And we saw some very interesting people there. One lady had on the shortest shorts I have ever seen in my life and then she pulled them UP. To top that all off, she wore a sports bra as a shirt. She was classy as hell. We also saw the token saggy boobed lady in a rebel flag tank top. Oh, and of course, the white girl who thought she was the shit because she was with a short Mexican. Apparently Mexicans love the rodeo. It was definitely an experience I will never forget. It wasn't my first rodeo, but the first one I was old enough to remember. I had a very redneck childhood.
Afterwards we went back to my boyfriend's house and got drunk and set off some fireworks. It was a classy 4th, hope yours was too!

Poor Poor Pitiful Me

Today is the day we are supposed to pay rent. However, I am so close to being broke it isn't funny. I have just enough in one account to cover my rent and 40 dollars in another. I don't get paid until next week and who knows which bills will just decide to show up at my door. Growing up sucks. During the school year I get benefits because my mom is a disabled veteran so I am rolling in the cash between August and May, but until then I have to scrimp and save. It also doesn't help that my job is 45 minutes away. That is NOT easy on the gas tank these days. Luckily my father pays for my gas (I know, I'm a lucky bitch in that regard). I do love being on my own, but I get no financial help from anyone except for the gas thing. My parents don't pay for my school or anything like that, just my phone bill. And I had to buy myself a new phone. The do pay for my car insurance but they bitch about it. That's what I got for Christmas, car insurance. And according to my mother I will be getting tires for my birthday. Why can't they get me something cool like new shoes?

When Country Comes to Town (Or Not So Much)

For weeks I have been SO excited over one concert. We bought the tickets, decided to make a day out of going to Asheville, and we were on our way. The day started out well enough, lots of shopping, three more pairs of shoes I didn't need, a Sex and the City shirt (<3), and a new LSU shirt. The day was going swell. The doors to our concert opened at 7 so we made a point to get there a few minutes early for our will call tickets. We get there and see nothing but metal heads. I look at the schedule they have taped to the window and see that the concert I was looking forward to, the one that I dragged my metal loving boyfriend to.... was the night before. And I was wearing cowboy boots. I felt like a dip shit.
So after a mini melt down we decided to go see Wall E since we were in town anyway. Well it wasn't playing at the movie theater we went to, so we saw Get Smart instead. SUPER funny, and definitely took my mind off things.
Every so often I get these moments where I feel like an absolute hick. And I'm not entirely. After the movie we went to Barnes and Noble because what better way to cheer up an English nerd than with books, right? Well Barnes and Noble has Starbucks, which I hadn't had in FOREVER so I decided to order one. At the cash register she rang me up and asked if I had a discount card. When I said no that I hadn't been to a Starbucks in about three years she gave me the strangest what kind of weirdo are you? I'm a small town weirdo thank you very much.

And it's only been four months, because Sally Mae and I realized we had Starbucks in Memphis on Spring Break.

If I Could Find a Job Where I Sit On My Ass All Day, It Would Be PERFECT

Finding a job around where I live is near impossible unless you want to work fast food. I worked at Dairy Queen for a summer and now refuse to work at anyplace that has a drive through. If it was a last resort, I would maybe consider it, but I have other experience now so I refuse. I applied to all acceptable places in town and never heard back from any of them. So I had to go to my "home" town. Where my parents live and where I graduated from. I got hired on the spot practically, mostly because I am friends with one of their favorites and I'm from St. Pete. Go me.
I can't decide whether it's good or bad. The first night was horrible. I almost quit right then and there. Last night wasn't too bad. I guess I'll see where it goes, and as long as it pays the bills, that would be great.

The Internet is Glorious

Today in our boredom we had a let's search the internet to see what kind of crazy funny things we can come up with. This skirt is apparently off Ebay, but the UK version.Notice the button doesn't even close. I suppose she thought she could still fit in it even though it looks as if she's gained about 25 pounds since this skirt was her favorite. Couldn't she have found someone else (ANYONE else) to model the skirt? Oh, but it gets better, here's the back:
Do you think the thong is attached? Or did she just pull it up because she thought it was classy? Either way, this should never happen again.

Sally Mae just showed me this website, check it out... if you want to.

Who knew there was such a thing as sassy soap?

I came across this picture the other day and I thought it was ridiculously funny. So I had to share it. If only I could find soap that classy for in my bathroom. Currently we have liquid soap in an octopus dispenser we got for fifty cents. Later on we saw it for $7.50. That's what you get for flirting with the Walmart boy. That and free movies.

River Time Fun

Today Sally Mae's mom came into town so I called up my mommy, we invited another friend and her mom, and we went to the river. When we got to the park we went into the shelter and there were two babies just kind of chilling in there. One was about 5 and the other was an infant. Both of them were crying. It didn't look like their parents were in sight until we saw a car suspiciously circling the parking lot. It was then that we realized that one of their parents was learning to drive. And given the race of the kids, they probably didn't even have a license or were American citizens. Now I have nothing wrong with legal immigrants, I have family who have legally immigrated into this country, not from Mexico of course, but still. And it made all of us kind of mad that they had just left their kids there.
Right after we got there a big white SUV pulled in and the lady said to us, "We've reserved this shelter for the day, we paid money and everything, so you're going to have to leave." She wasn't nice about it either. Bitch. Sally Mae's mom overheard one of their kids asking the Mexican kid if he wanted to play and she said that he probably didn't even know English. Which is probably correct.

Overall, the day was fun. Our other friend's mom was quiet but my mom and Sally Mae's mom were being their usual sassy selves. When we got back to the trailer my mom and I even had a cigarette. Which was awkward. And then she did our dishes. Which was awesome.
